Create your workspace
Sign up at app.cygnetree.com, name your business, and you're in. If a friend gave you a referral code, pop it in — it gives you free access while we're in early days.
Your dashboard has a short getting-started checklist. It watches what you've actually done and checks itself off — you can hide it anytime.
Open My workspace to choose where Cygnetree opens, adjust density and navigation, and select your own date, clock, and display-timezone preferences without changing anyone else's experience.
Add the people you work with
People live under, well, People. Add a person, household, business/vendor, or venue one at a time, or import a spreadsheet (CSV) — the import screen shows you exactly which columns it understood before anything is saved.
Use one record for each real person or business, give it any combination of lead, client, vendor, and partner roles, then connect related records without copying them. A project can include clients, collaborators, locations, and vendors with a specific role and explicit portal visibility for each.
See your pipelines
A pipeline shows every project as a card moving through stages — New inquiry, In conversation, Booked, In progress, Wrapped up. Rename the stages to match how you actually talk, and switch between the board and a plain list whenever you like.
Moving a card is how Cygnetree knows where things stand — reminders and automations key off it.
Grab the starter kit
Onboarding recommends one clearly named, optional starter:
- Flexible client services is the neutral default for consulting and unclassified relationship-based work.
- Creative studio adds a discovery, production, client-review, and delivery rhythm.
- Field services adds a request, estimate, scheduling, on-site work, and follow-up rhythm.
- Events & hospitality adds date checks, proposals, planning, delivery, and wrap-up without assuming the event is a wedding.
- Wedding planner studio is recommended for planners and coordinators.
- Wedding vendor studio is recommended for other wedding professionals. Entertainment, catering/bar, floral/decor/rentals, venue, photo/video, and hair/makeup starters are also available in the Library.
The review step tells you which starter will be installed and lets you turn it off. The Library shows the full workflow and record counts before installation. You can install any starter later, compare or combine them without overwriting their records, choose individual wedding-specific building blocks, or begin from scratch.
Starters create normal tenant-owned records: workflows, fields, views, scheduling, forms, messages, agreements, service options, and draft automation recipes. Edit any of them. Reset and uninstall remove only untouched, unused defaults; customized or in-use records stay in your workspace. Choosing a business type or starter never limits the tools available to you.
Revisit setup without starting over
Workspace owners and administrators can open Settings → Guided workspace setup anytime. The setup profile asks how you deliver work, who works with you, what you call clients and projects, how dates, communication, and payments work, which tools you already use, and what matters most now.
Before saving, Cygnetree explains its starter recommendation and shows the exact effects. Rerunning setup updates the saved answers and your personal presentation/quick actions. It does not rename records, remove packs, change another member's preferences, or connect an external tool.
Reset setup answers clears only that questionnaire and its recommendation. Your people, projects, installed content, integrations, and preferences remain intact.
When setup suggests words such as customer or job, an owner or administrator can preview and apply them separately under Settings → Workspace terminology. Most labels update navigation and quick actions only. The one exception is the name for the date the work is for, which your clients also see on their own portal page — it starts as the neutral "Service date" until you change it. No label renames records or rewrites imported information, and every saved version can be restored.
